She had been ill twenty-five months and had been bedfast for some time. She was a resident of Geneva many years, going to Columbus a few months ago. The Nebraska Signal 19 December 1946 page 6 ALSO: Sarah Catharine Myers was born in Hocking County, Ohio, March 8, 1861, being one of eight children of Simon and Isabel Hockman. Since last March, she has been tenderly and lovingly cared for at the home of her son, Will Myers, at Columbus, Neb. She had been confined to her bed for the last twenty-five months. She departed for her Heavenly Home, December 15, 1946, at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 7 days. She was united in marriage to George Myers August 8, 1880. This union was blessed with six children. In 1887, Mr. and Mrs. Myers moved to Fillmore County, Nebraska, and participated in and observed the growth and progress of this county. Mrs. Myers was a faithful and devoted member of the First Methodist Church of Geneva. The church was very dear to her. Her husband preceded her in death. This loving Christian mother leaves to mourn her passing, four sons, Leslie Myers, of Geneva; Will Myers of Columbus; Ed Myers and Ralph Myers of Geneva; two daughters, Mrs. Laura Hall of Geneva, Mrs. Eva Snodgrass of Gordon, Neb; sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Hockman of Portland, Ore.; other relatives and many friends.
