She was baptized in Immanuel church, Sutton, June 4, 1905. She renewed her baptismal covenant in confirmation April 18, 1920. September 2, 1923 she was united in marriage to William Bauer. This marriage was blessed with nine children, five daughters and four sons. She had lived in the Geneva vicinity for the past twelve years. She passed away June 6, 1954. She had undergone surgery about six weeks ago and... Read More	BAUER, SARAH CHRISTINE—Mrs. Sarah Christine Bauer, nee Griess, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Griess, was born March 27, 1905, at Sutton. She was baptized in Immanuel church, Sutton, June 4, 1905. She renewed her baptismal covenant in confirmation April 18, 1920. September 2, 1923 she was united in marriage to William Bauer. This marriage was blessed with nine children, five daughters and four sons. She had lived in the Geneva vicinity for the past twelve years. She passed away June 6, 1954. She had undergone surgery about six weeks ago and was well on the way to recovery. She became ill during the week previous to her death. She died en route to a Lincoln hospital. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, William Bauer; her children, Mrs. Eileen Miller, William Bauer, Ronald Bauer, Lawrence Bauer, Mrs. Ruth Schmidt, Mrs. Donna Mae Ulmer, Marion Bauer, Loraine Bauer and Betty Ann Bauer; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Hefties of Stockham, Mrs. Lester Milroy of Sutton, Mrs. Peter Steinhauer of Fresno, Cal., one brother, Frederick Griess of Harvard and four grandchildren. She attained the age of 49 years 2 months and 9 days. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, June 11, at 2 o'clock at Grace Lutheran church in Geneva with Pastor D. Grummert officiating. The following served as pallbearers: Donald Elznic, Kenneth Ebbeka, Delbert Sorge, Virgil Schrock, Lester Milroy Jr. and Donald Bauer. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. "Yea, I see what here was told me, See that wondrous glory shine, Feel the spotless robes enfold me, Know a golden crown is mine. Thus before the throne so glorious Now I stand a soul victorious, Gazing on that joy for aye That shall never pass away." The Nebraska Signal June 17th 1954 page 9.
