Read More	Tipton Advertiser 28 Jul 1870 pg 3 col. 1 & 2 SUDDEN DEATH - On Sabbath evening, Mrs. Sarah Betts, a respected lady who, hardly of middle age, had been for many years resident in Tipton, came very suddenly and unexpectedly to her death from a disease of the heart. Mrs. Betts was out driving with Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Piatt, her sister and brother-in-law, and having stopped at the farm of Mr. P., just as a glass of water was being handed to her where she sat in the carriage, she was seized with the deathly illness and calling to be taken out quickly, at once lapsed into insensibility from which she never recovered. She was at once taken from the carriage and laid upon a sofa brought from the house, where in a very short time she breathed her last. The funeral service took place Monday P.M. at the residence of H.C. Piatt, Esq., and was largely attended by the many friends of the deceased, the body being followed to its final resting place in Masonic Cemetery by a long and mournful cortege. Mrs. Betts leaves three boys, the oldest being of whom is only a lad, and who by this sad event are more than orphaned. Sarah was married to William A. Betts and divorced him in 1869. Their children were Wilbur Fiske Betts, Samuel Eason Betts and John Dillon Betts.
