Description	:	Sarah Ellen Loy, third child of William and Naomi Loy was born in Washington, Iowa on November 30, 1863 and departed this life at Gordon, Nebraska on December 15, 1951 at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Kayton, at the age of 88 years and 15 days. In early childhood she moved with her parents to Maryville, Missouri, where she grew to young womanhood. It was there she was united in marriage to William Carr on February 7, 1881. Read More	Sarah Ellen Loy, third child of William and Naomi Loy was born in Washington, Iowa on November 30, 1863 and departed this life at Gordon, Nebraska on December 15, 1951 at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Kayton, at the age of 88 years and 15 days. In early childhood she moved with her parents to Maryville, Missouri, where she grew to young womanhood. It was there she was united in marriage to William Carr on February 7, 1881. To this union three children were born, Jessie, Archie and Amy. Her husband; daughter, Jessie; and her only son, Archie, preceded her in death. On July 3, 1933 she was united in marriage to Willis J. Smiley of Council Bluffs, Iowa. After his passing she resided in Council Bluffs until May 30, 1945, when ill health made it necessary for her to be brought to Gordon to the home of her daughter, Amy, where she has lived since. As a child she attended the Baptist Sunday School, later joining the First Christian Church. Hers was a useful life, never too busy to lend a helping hand, her happiest hours were spent doing for others. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Mrs. William Kayton, her son-in-law; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; a brother, George Loy, and a sister, Mrs. Della Allen, both of St. Joseph, MO, and a sister, Mrs. Lavina Harvey of Los Angeles, CA, and other relatives and friends.
