Her husband died when her children were quite small and she had a struggle to raise her children, which she did with credit to both them and herself. She lost one of her hands in a molasses mill in the time of it, but she never gave up, and continued to work. She was a great talker and had a good conception of human nature. She despised a lazy person. She was a member of the Baptist church and leaves two sons, J.F. and E.C. Williams, of Cateechee. She leaves three living sisters, Mrs. L.E. Robinson and Caroline Clayton, of Liberty, and Mrs. Singleton of Oconee county, and one brother, James Clayton of Liberty. Her remains were interred in Camp Creek cemetery beside her daughter and several grandchildren to await the resurrection of the just."
