Mrs. Dickey has been ailing for some time. She suffered for several days when death relieved her of her pain October 14. Mrs. Dickey leaves to mourn her three daughters, Mrs. Thompson, who was with her at the time of her death was the only one of these able to be present at the funeral. her husband and step-children and an adopted child also survive her. Mrs. Dickey was for years a professed Christian and died trusting in the promise of her Saviour for eternal life. A short funeral service was held at the home on Friday, conducted by Rev. McEwen, and the remains accompanied by Mr. Dickey and her daughter were taken to Marion, Iowa, for interment. Abstracts from Records of undertakers and embalmers page 163: Sarah E. Dickey, d. Oct. 13, 1909, housewife, Rolfe, Iowa age 60 yrs. Buried Marion, Oct. 17, 1909, Thompson in charge of details.∼Linn County Death Records show that Sarah Dickey was originally from Rolfe, IA and died at age 60.
