Read More	Sarah Elizabeth Young Cruit is the daughter of James and Nancy Young. She is the first wife of George Washington Cruit. Cruit. ----------- Obituary: DIED CRUIT – Sarah E., wife of Geo. W. Cruit, was born October 29, 1834, died, March 12, 1871, aged thirty-six years, four months and fourteen days. She sought and found pardon and peace at the altar of prayer, in the M. E. Church, in Lancaster, in the winter of 1860 and united with the church. She lived a devoted and circumspect Christian. Quiet, modest, retiring, yet consistent in life, and Christlike in disposition, she recommended religion to all who knew her. More than two years ago she had an attack of hemorrhage of the lungs, which was the first indication of that fatal disease of which she died. During this long season of affliction her sufferings were palliated by the constant and untiring attention of a skillful physician, so that there were long periods of comparative rest and health; but there was no time but that the close observer could see that disease, thought insidious, and artful to deceive, was doing its work. The last few months she passed through great affliction, but she was sustained by a hopeful, loving trust in the Savior, speaking of death and the grave with surprising composure. A husband and five children are left without a wife and mother, all needing the counsel and example of one so patient and considerate. A very large assembly of friends and neighbors attended the funeral services, at Mt. Zion church, the Tuesday following her death. We mourn not as those who have no hope, believing that our loss is her infinite gain. COM.
