Description	:	Sarah Ellen, youngest daughter of David and Hannah Hanes, was born in Dallas county, Iowa on the farm now owned by W. E. Brown, on March 19th, 1860 and departed this life on December 23, 1929, aged 69 years, 9 months. Her entire life was spent in the vicinity of Waukee within the bounds of Boone township. She attended grammar school at the Night school house. As a young woman, Mrs. Caassatt became affiliated with the Maple Grove church. Read More	Sarah Ellen, youngest daughter of David and Hannah Hanes, was born in Dallas county, Iowa on the farm now owned by W. E. Brown, on March 19th, 1860 and departed this life on December 23, 1929, aged 69 years, 9 months. Her entire life was spent in the vicinity of Waukee within the bounds of Boone township. She attended grammar school at the Night school house. As a young woman, Mrs. Caassatt became affiliated with the Maple Grove church. Since that time she has been a devout and faithful worker in the church. At the time of her death she was Cradle Roll Supt., Disbursing Stewardess and President of the M.G. Ladies' Aid. With the passing of Mrs. Cassatt, Maple Grove loses one of its most valuable members. On November 26, 1894 she was united in marriage with Horace Cassatt. To this union was born one daughter, Georgia, who resided with her mother up to the time of the latter's decease. Mr. Cassatt passed away August 23, 1928. Mrs. Cassatt leaves to mourn her loss, her daughter Georgia, three brothers, J. C. Hanes of Colorado Springs, Colo,; D. C. Hanes of [Stuart] , Iowa; and J. B. Hanes of Des Moines; a number of nieces and nephews besides many other relatives and an host of friends.
