Rouse (nee Meligan) wife of George W. Rouse, was born in Crawford County, Pa., Nov. 13, 1838, and died at Nelson on the 13th day of March, 1894, aged 55 years and 4 months. She shared the joys and sorrows of matrimony with the now sorrowing husband for 28 years and 3 months. Their home was cheered by the birth of four children, one son and three daughters, one of which preceded the mother to eternity. Mrs. Rouse was a believer and made christian profession some years ago and united with the Evangelical Association of which church she was a member until her death. She suffered much pain during her last illness, but her faith triumphed and she left this world under full assurance of her acceptance before God. In her home she will be greatly missed. She enjoyed the fullest degree of love from her husband and children and was herself an affectionate wife and mother. Her circle of devoted friends was as large as her acquaintance. She was almost a life long sufferer from Asthma which often became very troublesome. Her recent illness was a complication of Asthma and Dropsy which prostrated her in September, 1863. Besides her immediate family above mentioned, her aged mother and one brother survive, who mourn in hope with a large number of relatives and friends. Contributor: Peggy Bargen Duey (46873059)
