Besides her husband Mrs. Behler leaves an aged father and mother,(Samuel Edward and Elizabeth Edward Lawver) who are both up in the eighties in years and live in Watonga, Okla., and three sisters and three brothers. Her brothers, Edward, Emery and Harvey Lawver, all live in Watonga, okla., a sister, Mrs. J. C. Thomas of Arendtsville, Penn., Mrs. Jacob Emig of Madesta, Cal., and Mrs. W. A. Wright of Livermore, Cal., also a niece, who was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Behler, who lives at Stockton, cal., Mrs. H. M. Snyder. For a number of years Mrs. Behler did dressmaking and in this way became acquainted with a great many people and by her kindly disposition made friends with everyone and her friends in and about Newton are numerous and feel that they have indeed lost a friend. Mrs. Behler joined the Reformed Presbyterian church of which her husband was a member in 1881 and on coming to Newton put their letters in the Presbyterian church here. Mrs Behler had always been of the true Christian spirit always thinking and helping with the work of the church, and no needy person was ever turned away from her door with out aid. Mrs. Behler had been a sufferer from stomach trouble for the past year and about a month ago was taken to Bethel hospital, where everything was done that could be done to prolong her life. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 from the Presbyterian church and was attended by a large concourse of friends, her pastor, Rev. A. H. Morrison, officiating. Relatives here for the funeral are Harvey Lawver and Mrs. Emma Lawver of Watonga, Okla. , Elmer Hall of Ponca City, and Mrs. Nora Dow, of St. Joseph, Mo.
