Description	:	When Mrs. Sarah E. Wise passed away last Friday evening at her home here this community lost one of its very few remaining pioneer residents and one of its most beloved citizens. Sarah Esther Haymond was the daughter of William and Anna Griffin Haymond, and was born November 2, 1851 near Pavilion, Kendall county, Illinois. Wise passed away last Friday evening at her home here this community lost one of its very few remaining pioneer residents and one of its most beloved citizens. Sarah Esther Haymond was the daughter of William and Anna Griffin Haymond, and was born November 2, 1851 near Pavilion, Kendall county, Illinois. She departed this life December 23, 1932, at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 21 days, her advanced age being the cause. She came to this community from Illinois in 1875, at the time of quite an influx of Illinois people, when her brother, the late W. C. Haymond; J. W. McMurray, and many others moved here, and had made this place her home for nearly 58 years. She was married on November 18, 1880 to John H. Prewett, of this place, who died July 23, 1903. On November 20, 1906, she was married to Thomas M. Wise, who survives to mourn her loss. One of the most beautiful companionships had been theirs for more than twenty-six years. While Mrs. Wise has never been a mother herself she has mothered the children of others. When the first wife of her brother, W. C. Haymond, died she went into his home and became a mother to his eleven-day-old daughters, who is now Mrs. Mary Buckles. Mrs. Wise herself came from a large family, being next to the youngest of a family of twelve children, and she was the last of them to pass on. Beside her devoted husband, she leaves to mourn her departure nieces, nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren, and a host of neighbors and friends. In early life she entered the Baptist church, but after coming to Francesville she became affiliated with the Christian church, of which she was a devoted member up to her demise, active in its aid society as long as she was able to attend, but her illness and decline for the past year had prevented her from engaging in the church work that was so dear to her. The funeral was held at the Christian church Monday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by the pastor, Rev. L. H. Ford of Brook. Burial in the Francesville cemetery. Francesville Tribune 23 Dec 1932
