Funeral Rites Pending for State Pioneer Mrs. Sarah McDonald, 85, Geyser, one of Montana's first school teachers, died Friday morning at a local hospital. She was the wife of Allen J. McDonald and had been a Montana resident for 66 years. Born Sept. 28, 1865, at Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, Mrs. McDonald went with her parents at an early age to Port Huron, Mich., where she received her education. She came to Montana with her mother and sisters on the Missouri river steamboat Josephine, arriving at Fort Benton, in 1884. |
