Mrs. Kenyons real illness dated back to several weeks before when she had a severe case of heart trouble from which she never fully regained her previous health although able to be about her work. Sunday May 7th, in company with Mr. Kenyon she visited at the home of their son Hugh Kenyon who resides about three miles east and a mile south of Sargent Shortly after coming home that afternoon she became ill and Dr. Fenstermacher was called. But medicine and loving care and treatment were of no avail. Gradually she became weaker until the end came Friday forenoon in the presence of her husband John A. Kenyon, and three daughters, and one son, Mrs Frank Sutton, Mrs. Edith Sutton, Mrs. Charles Ford and Hugh Kenyon. The funeral was held at the M. E. church Tuesday afternoon, a very large crowd of her friends and neighbors being present. Rev. M. M. Long, pastor of the church preached a most comforting funeral sermon. Following the services at the church the remains were taken to Mount Hope cemetery for interment. Three of her brothers came for the funeral B.F. Fuller of Ferguson, O. H. Fuller of Tecumseh and Stanley Fuller of Stapleton. Her son, Ralph Kenyon, who is in the United States Navy was not able to be present. One daughter Mrs. Nellie B. Adams of San Francisco, California could not come. She had spent about three weeks here since her mother's first sick spell several weeks ago. Sarah Isabel Fuller was horn at Marshalltown, Indiana, March 10th, 1859, and died at her home in Sargent, Nebraska, May 12th, 1922, at the age of 63 years, 2 months and 2 days. She came to Nebraska with her parents in 1863. The trip was made with team and wagon. The family located on a homestead in Gage county, where they lived for many years. September 12th, 1875, she was united in marriage with John Albert Kenyon whose parents lived on a farm near Adams in Gage county for about ten years after their marriage they lived on a farm in that county. In 1885 they came to Custer county and settled on a homestead about five miles south and somewhat west of Sargent. There they lived for twenty-seven years, improving their land and enduring the hardships and deprivations incident to pioneer life. In 1912 they disposed of their homestead and Mr. Kenyon purchased the furniture business from James W Lundy and they moved into Sargent which has been her home ever since To Mr. and Mrs. Kenyon seven children were born: three boys and four girls-- Oscar died May 23, 1919 at Hastings Ralph Byrd of the U.S. Navy, Lee Hugh of Lincoln, Nebraska; Mrs. Maud Sutton, Mrs.Edith Sutton, and Mrs. Lulu Ford all of Sargent, and Mrs. Nellie Adams ot San Francisco, California. Mrs, Kenyon was a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal church but failing health made it Impossible for her to take a very active part in the affairs of the same during the last few years.
