Description	:	Mrs. Sarah Jane Woods Funeral services for Sarah Jane Woods, who died at her home near Iconium after suffering eight weeks from a fall breaking her hip, were held at Iconium Sunday, Dec. 25th, at 2:30 o'clock. Read More	Mrs. Sarah Jane Woods Funeral services for Sarah Jane Woods, who died at her home near Iconium after suffering eight weeks from a fall breaking her hip, were held at Iconium Sunday, Dec. 25th, at 2:30 o'clock. Conducted by the Elder Clevenger, Elder Willet, Miss Beaulah Murray and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Southers sang three of the songs that she had sung on Friday before her death, but was unable to obtain the name of them, but they were some that she loved to sing. Mrs. Sarah Jane Woods, daughter of Lehman and Tabitha Harper was born January 8, 1843 and died Dec. 24, 1932 age 89 years 11 months and 16 days. She was married to A. G. Wood August 26, 1858, who preceded her in death 26 years and 16 days. To this union were born eleven children, seven boys and four girls. These sons and one daughter also preceded her in death. Those surviving are Charley, John, Lehmen, of Iconium, Tennessee Poling of Corbin, Mrs. John Mathews, of Osceola, and Lydia, of the home. Also 29 grand children and 46 great grand children, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss. She professed faith in her savior early in life although she had never united with any church she was a strong believer in the Primitive Baptist doctrine. Mrs. Woods was born and raised in this county and her friends were numbered by her acquaintances and truly loved by every one even to the smallest child. She always was ready to help any and every one at all times and will surely be missed from her community. All that loving hand could do was done to relieve her suffering, but without avail, and death claimed her on Saturday December 24th. Pallbearers were grandsons Frank, Louis and Earl Mathews, Joe, George and Lee Woods. The flower girls were Misses Eula Mathews and Clella Woods. She was laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Iconium cemetery.
