The Odebolt News - Thursday , April 11th, 1918 - On Monday forenoon the body of Mrs. Sarah Warren, whose death occurred last Thursday, was brought from Beresford, S.D. by relatives. Service was held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Early, Rev. W. Youstler preaching the sermon. Interment was made in the Early cemetery. The pall bearers were D.S. Huston, Charles Huston, Elaer Hason, Ellis Haradon, Frank Huston, and Arthur Mason. Mrs. Warren's maiden name was Sarah Jane Hazen. She was born in Bennington county, Vermont on Nov. 30, 1837 and died on March 28,1918 aged 81 years, 3 months 28 days. She moved to Ohio with her parents at the age of five years and 3 years later to Deerfield, Wis. At Portland, Wis. she.was united in marriage to Dr. William Warren on the 20th of July 1861. In 1870 they came to Sac County settling on a farm four miles southwest of Early, where the husband, died about 17 years ago. She continued to reside with the children, on the farm for several years after, but for the past 12 years has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Fred Gibbons of Early during the summer months and with her daughter, Mrs Fred Drey of Beresford S.D. during the winters. Of the eight children who were born to them six survive: Mrs. Fred Gibbons and Mark Warren of Early; Mrs Fred Drey of Beresford S.D.; Minor Warren of Stratton, CO; Mrs. Fred Potast of Waterloo; Mrs. Wilbur Lentz of Spirit Lake; and three brothers: Ben Hazen of Early; Dr. Wm. Hazen of Creighton, Neb.; and John Hazen of Stratton, CO. Also one sister Mrs. Wm. Moore of Plankinton S.D. Mrs. Warren was a lovely woman a devoted mother and a true friend, always thoughtful of others to the exclusion of herself. Relatives at the funeral were Mr and Mrs. Wilbur Lentz of Spirit Lake, Mrs. Wm. Moore of Plankinton, S.D., and Minor Warren of Stratton, CO.
