Read More	The Osceola Tribune, Osceola, Iowa February 3, 1942, Page 4 Sarah Jane Edgington Sarah Jane Edgington, daughter of Leonard and Eliza Edgington was born August 4, 1868, near Pleasantville, in Marion county, Iowa and passed away January 28, 1942, at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 24 days. When a child of eleven years, she moved with her family to Nebraska, returning with them in 1881 to Clarke county where she has since made her home. Miss Edgington has lived in the immediate vicinity of Jamison for the past 42 years. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Washington Center and on coming to this community transferred her membership and allegiance to the Methodist Episcopal here. She has faithfully attended all church services and the Sunday school and Epworth League services as well, always doing earnestly whatever task came to her hand in the service of the Lord. She took special interest in keeping the church cleaned and dusted, and ready for services--gladly spending many hours at the task. Her life was spent at home until 1925 when she went to live with her brother Will and his motherless girls to make a home for them in their departed mother's place. For the next ten years she bent every energy to the task, trying in every way to fulfill the obligation she had so gladly assumed. In 1935, she returned home to help care for her brother, Charles, in his last illness and since that time lived there with her sister Mary, until she was called to her heavenly home. Truly, her life has been one of loving and eager service to her relatives and friends. She leaves to mourn their loss, two brothers, Richard H. of Steele City, Nebraska, and Will of Jamison; one sister, Mary, of Jamison, and many nieces and nephews of whom she was especially fond. Her special delight was in making or giving some little gift to the small members of her family. Her parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 31 at 2:00 p. m. in the Jamison church, with Rev. R. C. Calkins officiating. Music was furnished by Benjamin Gleckler of New Virginia with Mrs. Carl Binford of Weldon as accompanist. Pallbearers were: Bert Chandler, Evan Freeman, Elbert Phipps, Ross Bernard, James Miller, and Billy Harrison. She was laid to rest in the Jamison cemetery. Those who attended from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. John Wooley of West Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frenz, John Rowley, Herman Tulk, Mrs. Dave Riely, Mrs. Chuck Mancuso, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tulk, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Williams, of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edgington, Betty and Wilma of Indianola, Mrs. Maggie Newman and Lester of Lacona.
