Read More	Notes on Sarah Jane Van Slyke Richards: Sarah Nane Van Skyle was born June 1836 in Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York and died October 26,m 1911 in Grafton, Fillmore County, Nebraska. She married Absalom Caleb Richards April 8,1855 in Steuben County, Indiana, (son of William Richards and Clarissa Eames. He was born September 9, 1827 in Monroe County, New York, and died March 9, 1882 in Grafton, Fillmore County, Nebraska). Notes for Sarah Jane Van Slyke Nebraska Signal, Geneva Nebraska October 27, 1911: Mrs. Jane Richards, who makes her home with her son, A.P. Richards, north of town, stumbled while walking across a level piece of ground about 5 pm last Thursday and fell, Breaking the left hip bone near the upper extremity. Mrs. Richards in 78 years old and has been in feeble health for some time. Her recovery is considered doubtful. Later: Mrs. Richards died at 12:10 pm yesterday. From the Nebraska Signal, Geneva, Nebraska November 3, 1911: Mrs. Jane Richards was born June 27, 1833 in Syracuse, N.Y.. At the age of 3 years, she moved with her parents to Oakland County Michigan where she resided for 10 years when she moved to Steuben County Indiana, where she married A.C. Richards April 3, 1855. After about thirteen years, they returned to Michigan, living in Muskegon for four years, when they came to Nebraska in 1872. Mr. Richards took a homestead four miles southwest of Fairmont, where they resided until September 1881, when they moved to Grafton, where Mr. Richards died March9, 1888. After this, Mrs. Richards went to live with her son Arthur, where she resided until her death, which occurred Oct. 26, 1911 being aged 87 years. Buried in Fairmont beside her deceased husband. She was the mother of two children, Mrs. Cora Maddox of Herrick South Dakota, and Arthur Richards of Geneva. Lot owner: A. Richards
