Read More	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, July 9, 1925; pg. 8 Sarah Katherine Bruce was born in Bland, Virginia, May 11, 1883, and died at Hebron, Nebraska, July 7, 1925, at the age of 42 years, 1 month and 25 days. She was the second oldest in a family of nine, a sister dying in infancy. In her early girlhood she came to Nebraska with her parents in 1902, living near Nora, Nebraska, until her marriage with George W. Chapman, November 1, 1905. Since then they have lived in Nuckolls county (sic) with the exception of four years that were spent in Blaine county (sic), Nebraska. This union was blessed with seven children, two dying in infancy. The five living, are: Jewell Estelle, Wallace Bruce, Mark Udell, Helen Margueritte and Donald LeRoy. Besides these she leaves to mourn her departure, a husband, mother, father, five sisters and two brothers. She was a kind and patient mother, always willing to do what she could for everyone and never complaining. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We shall meet but we shall miss her There will be one vacant chair We shall linger to caress her As we breathe our evening prayer. The funeral service was held at the home five miles southeast of Nelson, Thursday afternoon, July 9th, 1925, at 2:30, and was conducted by Vincent R. Beebe, pastor of the Nelson Methodist church (sic). The singing was by a quartet from the Nelson Methodist choir. The beautiful floral tributes together with the large attendance of neighbors and friends indicates the high regard in which the departed and bereaved are held and the deep sympathy that is felt. The body was laid to rest in the Nelson cemetery (sic). Mrs. Carson Furnish of Wellfleet, was called here by the death of Mrs. George Chapman. Mrs. Furnish is a sister of Mr. Chapman.
