Funeral services for Mrs. Sadie Beacom Casey, 76, a lifelong resident of the Willis community who died Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Duckson of Ponca, will be held at 9 am Friday at St. John's Catholic church at Willis. Rev. Stanley Zukowski will officiate with burial in St. John's cemetery at Jackson. The pallbearers will be Jack Walsh, Jim Walsh, Joseph Walsh, Albert Peterson, Rodney Twohig and Ambrose Heenan. The rosary will be recited tonight (Thursday), at the Larkin funeral home at 8 p.m. Mrs Casey was born April 6, 1881, in Willis. She attended school in Goodwin, and St Joseph's parochial school in Sioux City. She taught school in Dakota County, for three years before her marriage to Thomas Casey January 21, 1903. Mr. Casey died in 1942. Mrs. Casey was a member of St. John's Catholic church in Willis. Surviving are two sons, Joe of Ponca and John of Alura, Minn; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Walsh and Mrs. Gertrude Duckson, both of Ponca; three sisters, Mrs. Frances McIntyre and Mrs. Margaret Heenan, both of Sioux City and Mrs. Catherine Marron of Lakeside Calif.; three brothers, Charles Beacom, living in Oregon, George Beacom of Sioux City and Ed Beacom of Muskegon, Mich.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
