Description	:	Wednesday January 18, 1911 Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette Marion and Court House News: Mrs. Sarah P. McKean died Tuesday at about 12 o'clock at her home on Ninth street. She has been in failing health for some time, but was confined to her bed only a week and her death was the result of ailments due to old age. Mrs. McKean was a little past 90 years of age and came to Marion from Pennsylvania, her native state, in 1845. She was married in 1848 to Thomas J. McKean, who served his country in both the Mexican and civil wars. General McKean died... Read More	Wednesday January 18, 1911 Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette Marion and Court House News: Mrs. Sarah P. McKean died Tuesday at about 12 o'clock at her home on Ninth street. She has been in failing health for some time, but was confined to her bed only a week and her death was the result of ailments due to old age. Mrs. McKean was a little past 90 years of age and came to Marion from Pennsylvania, her native state, in 1845. She was married in 1848 to Thomas J. McKean, who served his country in both the Mexican and civil wars. General McKean died in 1870, and of the five children born to this union, only one son, Louis, survives and he made his home with his mother. Mrs. McKean was a quiet, retiring woman, but was loved by all who knew her and until her health would not permit her to do so, was an active member of the Women's Relief Corps. The funeral services will be held at the home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and conducted by Rev. James A. Smith of the Presbyterian church.
