Description	:	OBITUARY Mrs. Sarah Martin daughter of John and Polly Wisehart, was born in Montgomery county, near Crawfordsville, Indiana, February 19, 1838, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. L. Cousins, at Des Moines, January 23, 1922, aged 83 years, 11 months and 4 days. She came to Linn county, Iowa, with her parents when she was seven years of age. She was the oldest child of the family and the last member of her generation, all the others having preceded her in death. She was married to Marion Martin in 1858. To this union nine children... L. Cousins, at Des Moines, January 23, 1922, aged 83 years, 11 months and 4 days. She came to Linn county, Iowa, with her parents when she was seven years of age. She was the oldest child of the family and the last member of her generation, all the others having preceded her in death. She was married to Marion Martin in 1858. To this union nine children were born, four of them, Luella, Tilda, Maggie and John having passed away, leaving five living daughters, Mrs. L. W. Cheadle, Mrs. Willard Neighbor and Mrs. H. R. Mentzer of Cedar Rapids, and Estella M. Burton of Sioux City, and Mrs. C. L. Cousins of Des Moines. The husband and father passed away several years ago. The funeral services were conducted by Elders E. J. Sarchett and W. C. Wilson at the Baptist church in Greens Grove, Thursday, January 26, and interment was made in the church yard cemetery. Aunt Sally, as she was known to everybody far and near, was one of the pioneers of this county. She was on of those sturdy, upright characters whom is was a pleasure to know. Her neighborliness and kindliness extended far beyond her immediate community, and her presence and activities will be greatly missed.
