Mrs. Garvin was suddenly taken with grip on the Tuesday preceding her death and such was the rapid progress of the disease that dissolution quickly followed. Read More	Obituary The announcement last Thursday evening of the death of Mrs. David Garvin came as a surprise to this community, but very few being aware of her dangerous illness. Mrs. Garvin was suddenly taken with grip on the Tuesday preceding her death and such was the rapid progress of the disease that dissolution quickly followed. Mr. and Mrs. Garvin were old residents of this county, their early settlement being made in Union township, where by industry and frugality they had saved a handsome competence to ease their declining years. In November last they removed to Hopkinton to make their permanent home. Besides the children living, the aged husband survives to mourn the loss of a life companion and helpmate. Sarah Sheppard was born in Sharon, Noble county, Ohio, March 13, 1833 where the days of her infancy and youth were passed. November 18, 1852 she was united to marriage to David Garvin, of which union nine children were born, five of whom are now living and were attendant at the bedside when the mother passed away. In 1873 she was converted and united with the church, and from that time until death her faith never wavered. The funeral services were held on Saturday at Buck Creek, being attended by a large concourse of neighbors and friends who came to pay the last respects to one who in life was greatly beloved.
