Teter Mother Susanna Robson The Tipton Daily Tribune (Tipton, Indiana) 2 Sep 1941, Tue Page 6 Was Formerly Resident Here Funeral Services for Mrs. Elizabeth Alvey Held This Afternoon She Died at Elwood Mrs. Elizabeth Alvey, age 55, wife of Morris Alvey of Frankton, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital, Elwood, where she was taken last Wednesday suffering with a malignant trouble for which there could be no cure. The body was taken to the Edwards funeral home in Windfall and returned to the late home Monday evening. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock CST, at the First Methodist church in Elwood, with Rev. W. L. Teal officiating. Burial was in Fairview cemetery, Tipton. The Alvey family formerly lived on the George Summers farm north of Windfall and only moved to Frankton last spring. They also formerly lived in Tipton and in the Tetersburg community. Mrs. Alvey was the daughter of Rev. M. L. and Susannah (Robinson) Teter, pioneers of this county. She was born in Tetersburg, August 30, 1886. Her father was the first white child born in Tipton county and her grandfather, M. L. Teter, Sr., was one of the early day white pioneers in this section when it was a wilderness inhabited by Indians. Surviving Mrs. Alvey are the husband, a son, M. L. Alvey, and a daughter, Mrs. Grace Donaldson and son, Edsel Eugene, all of Frankton. There are also three step-children, Charles and Glen Alvey and Mrs. Harry Heflin. Nine brothers and sisters are also surviving. They are Mrs. John Meeks of Windfall, Mrs. Earl Hobbs of Elwood, E.F. Teter of Tipton, James Teter of Oaklandon, M.R. Teter of Westfield, Rev. A. P. Teter of Huntington and Charles Teter of Burla, Idaho.
