Thanks to "Sue" for following up and making a new, legitimate cemetery listing in Washington county, Iowa to which this memorial is now moved to on June 30, 2011 per her SAC request and notification. //rkt June 30, 2011. --------- Sarah Vance Wright was married to Noah Wright in 1835 (his first wife) in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Together they had at least nine, and possibly ten children (one unidentified child born between that of Isaac Newton Wright and Mary Wright; likely died at birth or in infancy). Sarah, according to her headstone, was 68yrs and 2ms. old when she died. That would be a birth date of about Dec. 1814. Sarah was buried at the small rural cemetery, Shiloh Cemetery, located between Brighton and Washington in Washington County. Her headstone was photographed by Janet Evans on about September 19, 2005 and that headstone photo can be found on the Iowagravestones.org website under the listing for Shiloh Cemetery in Washington County, Iowa. Permission has not been granted for this photo to be used on this find a grave memorial at this time. It appears from the photo that the headstone is somewhat broken and other headstones are set near the base. The cemetery is reportedly in poor condition with few headstones intact. According to one account, when Noah died he intended to be buried in this cemetery with his wife, Sarah, but the weather and road conditions at the time of his death prevented the transportation of his body to this location. He was then buried at Wright Cemetery just SE of Fairfield, in Jefferson County, Iowa. Known children: Isaac Newton, Mary, Jasper, Mahala (1842-1879, burial unknown at this time), Nancy, Malissa/Melissa, Samuel S, Bazzel, and Frank Wright. -------- Since the above bio material was written, a headstone photo has been provided for this memorial by another contributor.
