Most likely because his remains were sent by train and the delivery point was Shelbina, Mo. ~~~~~~~ Funeral Card JULIUS RITTER Born August 20, 1840 Zeitz, Prussia Died March 22, 1921 Funeral services will be held at the Christian church in Shelbyville, Mo., Wednesday, March 23, 1921, at 2:30 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. J. W. Tanquary. Interment in Masonic Cemetery. ~~~~~~~ Julius Ritter Dies at Home of Daughter in Kansas City Julius Ritter, for many years a resident of Shelby county, passed away at 4 a. m. Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Albert Douglass, in Kansas City. Death resulted from kidney trouble and complications. He had been seriously ill for the past four months. Mr. Ritter was born in Germany August 20, 1839 (sic), and was in his 82nd year. He came with his parents to America when he was eight years old and lived for a time at Hannibal, later moving to Bethel and then to Shelbyville. He conducted a harness shop in Shelbyville for more than 40 years and was well known in this community as an upright and honorable citizen. His wife, who was Miss Elizabeth Culler, died April 24, 1906. There were ten children, seven of whom are living: Mrs. Lee Rufener of near Shelbyville, Mrs. Louis Hoffman of Jacksonville, Ill., Mrs. Albert Douglass and Mrs. Irwin Engle of Kansas City, Julius Ritter, Jr., of St. Louis, Fred of St. Joseph and Ed of Billings, Mont. One brother, Ed Ritter of Shelbyville, and two sisters, Mrs. Louisa Moffett of Bethel and Mrs. Nettie Hiles of Macon, also survive, together with 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Deceased was a member of the Lutheran church and a member of the I. O. O. F. Lodge of Shelbyville. The remains arrived here last night. Funeral services will be held at the Christian church at 2:30 p. m. today, conducted by Rev. J. W. Tanquary, after which the remains will be laid to rest beside the grave of his wife in the Masonic cemetery. Services at the grave will be in charge of the I. O. O. F.
