Description	:	Selma M. W. (Rusch) Rosburg (1905 - 1998) Selma M. W. Rosburg was born November 16, 1905, the daughter of Henry and Lena Koeppen Rusch. She died on Wednesday, May 6, 1998, at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa at the age of ninety-two. Selma was born on a farm, near Schleswig, Iowa and was baptized in Christ on December 25, 1905 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hanover Township by Rev. Runge. (Rusch) Rosburg (1905 - 1998) Selma M. W. Rosburg was born November 16, 1905, the daughter of Henry and Lena Koeppen Rusch. She died on Wednesday, May 6, 1998, at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa at the age of ninety-two. Selma was born on a farm, near Schleswig, Iowa and was baptized in Christ on December 25, 1905 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hanover Township by Rev. Runge. She was later confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Schleswig on March 20, 1921 by Rev. Firnhaber. Selma received her education at a rural school near Schleswig and the Schleswig Community High School. After completing her education, Selma helped on the family farm, until her marriage to Edwin A. Rosburg on February 7, 1926 at Schleswig, Iowa. The couple settled on a farm west of Ricketts for eleven years, before moving to Ricketts in 1932. Later in 1942, the couple moved to Charter Oak, where Selma worked in various cafes and lounges. Selma was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Charter Oak, American Legion Auxiliary, Golden Oaks and Charter Oak Senior Citizens. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved flowers and gardening. She did volunteer work for West Central Development Corporation in Dunlap and Denison, Girl Scout Camps at Boone and the Lutheran Camp at Okoboji. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Edwin who died in a truck accident in 1946. Survivors include one daughter, Sally Carstens and special friend, Robert Heckmann of Denison; three sons, Edward Rosburg and his wife, Dorothy of Elizabeth, Colorado; Douglas Rosburg and his wife, Betty of Cape Canaveral, Florida; Vernon Rosburg of Denver, Colorado; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
