Sena, the daughter of Ludwig and Emalene Green Smidt, was born March 10, 1894 near Ackley, Iowa. She moved with her parents at an early age to a farm near Britt and attended rural schools nearby. Sena, the daughter of Ludwig and Emalene Green Smidt, was born March 10, 1894 near Ackley, Iowa. She moved with her parents at an early age to a farm near Britt and attended rural schools nearby. She was united in marriage with John Sweers on March 15, 1921 at Garner, Iowa. The couple made their home on a farm near Britt. On March 4, 1942 her husband John passed away. Sena continued living on the farm until 1958 at which time she moved into Britt. Since December 12, 1985 she has been a resident of Westview Care Center of Britt. Sena attended the Britt Evangelical Free Church and Ladies Aid. Sena will always be remembered by her family as a good hearted and loving Mother and Grandmother. Sena is survived by her 8 children: Carrie and husband Clarence Schaefer of Britt, Lucille and husband Adrian DeWaard of Corwith, Jake and wife Margaret Sweers of Woden, Louie and wife Joan Sweers of Britt, Elmer and wife Francine Sweers of Britt, Herman and wife Sally Sweers of Britt, Janet and husband Clinton Moldenhauer of Forest City, 33 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Annie Smidt of Britt, 3 brothers: Anton of Kanawha, Louie and wife Hattie of Britt, George of Britt, Ellie Smidt of Kanawha, and Ada Sweers of Britt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers: Ole, Henry, Emmo, 1 sister Alice, and Ben Herkes.
