Description	:	William C. Ledogar Sr. passed away on December 6, 2006 at the VA Hospital in Lake City Florida. Bill, as he was often called was born on June 3, 1932 to Edwin Ledogar and Zylphia Zwirz Ledogar. Bill was educated through the Killingly school system before enlisting in the United States ARMY to fight in the Korean War. While fighting for his country and receiving several injuries, Bill was awarded various medals for valor to include the Silver Star, and two Purple Hearts. Ledogar Sr. passed away on December 6, 2006 at the VA Hospital in Lake City Florida. Bill, as he was often called was born on June 3, 1932 to Edwin Ledogar and Zylphia Zwirz Ledogar. Bill was educated through the Killingly school system before enlisting in the United States ARMY to fight in the Korean War. While fighting for his country and receiving several injuries, Bill was awarded various medals for valor to include the Silver Star, and two Purple Hearts. His expert marksmanship also yielded him the Combat Infantryman's Badge. After returning home, Bill stayed active in the military by serving in the Connecticut National Guard where he ultimately served as the company First Sergeant. When Bills military career came to a close, he decided to own, train, and breed thoroughbred race horses. Over the following many years, Bill would find great success in the horse racing circuit winning many races across the eastern United States not only for himself, but for others that he would train for. Bill would also find the time to invest in several restaurant businesses in Connecticut with his younger brother Frank. Ultimately, Bill and his wife Lucille retired and moved to northern Florida in the late eighties and this is where he would reside the remainder of his life. Bill was predeceased by his mother and father as well as his youngest brother Francis. Surviving Bill was his wife of 54 years Lucille (Bernier) Ledogar, daughter Donna (Sedgwick) Ledogar, two sons William C. Ledogar Jr and Robert J. Ledogar. Bill also had six grandchildren, Christopher and Shawn Kezik, Joshua and Jeremy Ledogar, Holly and Amber Ledogar. Bill was also survived by his brothers Edwin and Larry as well as two sisters Ann and Gail. Bill was interred within the Ledogar Family Plot at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Danielson Connecticut.
