Description	:	This Morning At the Mercy Hospital this morning at, 2 o'clock occurred the death of one of Canonsburg's most prominent citizens, Hugh S. Cummins, 59, 326 West Pike street, who has been in poor health over a year. He had been confined to the hospital two weeks. Mr. Cummins, who for the past 12 years was the assistant cashier at the First National Rank, was well liked and highly respected by all who knew him. Read More	This Morning At the Mercy Hospital this morning at, 2 o'clock occurred the death of one of Canonsburg's most prominent citizens, Hugh S. Cummins, 59, 326 West Pike street, who has been in poor health over a year. He had been confined to the hospital two weeks. Mr. Cummins, who for the past 12 years was the assistant cashier at the First National Rank, was well liked and highly respected by all who knew him. The news of his death today saddened the community where he spent almost his entire life. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Cummins was an active member of the American Legion, Post 253, and for 25 years held a perfect attendance record in the Canonsburg-Houston Rotary Club. He was a member of the Houston U. P. Church, and the Board of Directors of the First National Bank. Earlier in life, Mr. Cummins was in the wholesale grocery business at Houston with his father and for many years was also an auctioneer. A son of Andrew Wilson and Jane Sprowls Cummins, Mr. Cummins was born in Chartiers Township on September 27, 1887. On August 27, 1919, he was united in marriage with Ella Harris and to this union were born three children. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Gordon W., of California; A. Erwin at Purdue University, Ind.; and Hugh. Jr., at home; one grandson, A. Erwin. Jr., Indiana; one sister, Mrs. Bryce Browning, Ohio; and two brothers. George Cummins, of Houston, and Howard Cummins, of Brownsville, Tex. The body is at the W. H. McNary Funeral home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending arrival of son, Gordon, from California.
