Description	:	------------------------- John McNeeley, was a CCC worker. He helped build Norris Dam in Tennessee. He was a WW1 veteran, he worked coal for a few years and saved enough to buy a 75 acre farm in Campbell County. He quietly raised a family and never complained about living conditions. They had all the basics and lots of love. He wasn't rich or famous but I'm proud of my heritage. He instilled good morals and work ethic in his children. McNeeley, 79, died Saturday at LaFollette Community Hospital. Survivors include wife, Lola McNeeley, LaFollette; four daughters, Mrs. Harvey Goins, Carlisle, Ohio, Mrs. Irene Springs, Mrs. Wanda Vincent, Bristol; two sons, Clifford McNeeley, LaFollette, Sam McNeeley, Oak Ridge; one sister, Mrs. Cora Goins; one brother, Tom McNeeley, both of LaFollette; half-sisters, Mrs. Pernia Goins, Mrs. Mary Goins, Knoxville; one half-brother, Mr. Hugh Parker, LaFollette; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at Alder Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Audrey Cooper officiating. Walters Funeral Home was in charge.
