Died February 9, 1913, at the age of 70 years, 1 month and three days. He moved with his mother to Kansas in the fall of 1850 and located at the Sac and Fox agency and in the spring of the next year moved to Council Grove, where he made his home until his death. Read More	The Council Grove Republican, 14 Feb 1913, Fri OBITUARY Joshua Well[s] Baker was born in Wapello County, Iowa, January 6, 1843. Died February 9, 1913, at the age of 70 years, 1 month and three days. He moved with his mother to Kansas in the fall of 1850 and located at the Sac and Fox agency and in the spring of the next year moved to Council Grove, where he made his home until his death. In the year 1862 he enlisted in Company C, 9th Regiment of Kansas Cavalry and was discharged from service June 9, 1865. He was married July 6, 1873, to Lydia Watkins, and to this union were born nine children. He united with the Southern Methodist Church in 1874 and has lived a devoted Christian life since then. Through the years of his suffering and poor health he has been patient and uncomplaining. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn his loss.
