Description	:	Sharen Marie Cottrell, 76, of Yelm, Wash., passed away at her home Wed., Nov. 27, 2019, following a brief illness. Sharen was born in Centralia, Wash., April 30, 1943, to Edgar and Lavert (Largen) Burton. Just out of high school, Sharen went on a double date with a friend to the Twin City Drive-In that was on Gold Street in Centralia. Read More	Sharen Marie Cottrell, 76, of Yelm, Wash., passed away at her home Wed., Nov. 27, 2019, following a brief illness. Sharen was born in Centralia, Wash., April 30, 1943, to Edgar and Lavert (Largen) Burton. Just out of high school, Sharen went on a double date with a friend to the Twin City Drive-In that was on Gold Street in Centralia. It was on this date that she met the love of her life, Dean Cottrell, who had been her friend's date for the evening. Dean proposed to Sharen after six months, and Nov. 12, 1961, the couple was married at the Methodist Church in Centralia. Sharen loved animals, sewing, shopping, watching old movies and crafting. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sharen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard; and daughter, Anita Marie. She is remembered by her husband, Dean; daughters, Deanna Guerrero and Barbara Parsons, sister, Barbara Ann Lundstrom; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at Sticklin Funeral Chapel in Centralia, followed by a reception in the Chapel's Hospitality Room. Interment will follow the reception at Forest Grove Cemetery in Tenino, Wash. In lieu of flowers, Sharen's family requests that donations be made to Thurston County Animal Shelter, or to a similar charity of the giver's choice.
