Description	:	Sharon A. ‘Sherry’ Busick, 76, of Brookings passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at her home under hospice care, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 6, 2021, at GracePoint Wesleyan Church and will be live-streamed on the Rude’s Funeral Home Facebook page. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday at the church. Masks are required to be worn. Rude’s Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Sharon (Sherry) Ann (Wilkins) Busick was born on August 14, 1944, the daughter of Chester and Donnie (Stills) Wilkins in Osceola, Iowa. She met the love of her life, Jerry Busick, when she was only 13 and he was only 16. They were united in marriage on June 24, 1962. They were blessed with four daughters, Roxie, Julie, Becky and Bobbi. Sherry started her working career at the Osceola Hospital. A job she told everyone was her favorite! She did briefly work at Snowdens in Osceola and found out quickly she did not have a love for sewing. She found a love for Avon and became an Avon Lady while living in Ames, IA. When Jerry's job took them to Sioux Center, Iowa, Sherry became a bookkeeper for Hy-Vee under Jerry's supervision. She did this while in Sioux Center and Brookings, South Dakota. She then transitioned to a full-time homemaker where she devoted her time raising her four girls and following them through all their extracurricular activities. Throughout the years she enjoyed neighborhood coffee, ceramics, bowling, golfing, being a girl scout leader and chaperoning day camps and coaching softball, where she was known as “Mom” to many. After many moves with Hy-Vee in Iowa, they finally made their home in South Dakota when they moved to Brookings in 1976. Shortly after moving to Brookings they found a love of following the SDSU Jackrabbits. New friendships were formed though their elite Back of the Bus Gang! Sherry and Jerry along with their daughter and son-in-law, purchased Prairie Lanes in 2002. She became the bookkeeper. This is when Sherry found her new friendships with the daily coffee groups, Lions Club, Optimist Club and Doyle's Group. The members of these groups held a special place in her heart! She had recently found a love for writing letters and cards and connecting with friends. It brought her great joy to reconnect with her classmates of 1962 and to get to travel to Osceola, Iowa and enjoy the company of the “Lunch Bunch”! Sherry's hobbies included fishing, spending time at her cabin on Lake Poinsett, playing cards, garage sales, auctions, craft projects, planting flower gardens and puzzles. Sherry especially enjoyed going to Oscars to receive her special treatment and beautiful nails! Two skills she found pride in passing down to her kids and grandkids were making Grandma Wilkins' noodles and cleaning fish the right way! Since quarantine, she looked forward to riding along with her daughter, Roxie during errands where Sherry would stay in the car making phone calls while Roxie ran inside, going through the car wash daily...because they could, and then ice cream from Zesto. Every night ended with a cut throat game of cards which she always wanted Les to lose! Most importantly, she loved hanging out with her family! She looked forward to those wonderful girl's weekends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She found the best in each and every one of them! Grateful for having shared her life is her four daughters, Roxie (Les) Nelson of Brookings, SD, Julie (Dave) Flora of Council Bluffs, IA, Becky Anderson of Brookings, SD and Bobbi (Paul) Larsen of Casper, WY; two sisters, Janice Weeks of Indianola and Kay Gray of Osceola, IA; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, her parents, sisters Doris, Mary Jane, Waunita and Marie, nephews, Lannie and Lonnie, and niece Robin. - Rudes Funeral Home
