Description	:	Sharon Vanosdall, 74, of Grand Island, formerly of Marquette, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Grand Island. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. The Rev. Ron Harris will officiate. Interment will be at 3 p.m. in the Greeley Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. Sharon Dee Vanosdall, the daughter of Ray and Carol (Smith) Albin, was born March 27, 1940, at home in Salem, Neb., and passed away Jan. 25, 2015, at Grand Island, Neb., at the age of 74. As a child Sharon lived with her family in Honey Creek. In 1946, her family moved to Latour, Mo., and then moved to Peru, Neb., in 1947. In 1948, Sharon moved to Lincoln, Neb. The family moved to Greeley in 1950, where Sharon graduated from Greeley High School in 1957. On April 18, 1958, she was united in marriage to Gerald Alvin Vanosdall at Fort Carson, Colo. Gerald spent 11 ½ years in the U.S. Army. The family lived in various places including Kentucky, Georgia and Okinawa before settling in Marquette, Neb. While the children were growing up, Sharon worked at the Marquette Café and at Lipincotts. Gerald passed away on June 27, 1984. She worked as a C.N.A. at Hamilton Manor until she retired and then worked part-time at the Aurora Mall. Sharon enjoyed doing crafts, shopping and attending Bible studies. She especially liked spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jerry Ray Vanosdall; and five sisters, Sandra Voboril (twin sister), Twila Shell, Carol Hruby, Ida Riggs and Ardath Miller. Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Marvin (Denise) Vanosdall of Omaha and Mark (Lisa) Vanosdall of Grand Island; two daughters, Mary (Danny) Conley of Grand Island and Michelle (John) Golden of Kearney. Also surviving are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jeremy (April) Sundberg their children Alec and Calleigh, Aaron Sundberg, Matthew Smith, Tim (Kristin) Logue their children, Dylan and Lydia, Bryce Vanosdall, Alyssa Vanosdall, Audrey Vanosdall, Leesha Vanosdall and Courtney Vanosdall.
