Description	:	Sharon Kay (Kearney) Haislip, 84, of Springfield, Missouri, died on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at the Neighborhood at Quail Creek Care Home in Springfield. Sharon was born on May 1, 1937, in Lexington, the daughter of L. Merle Kearney and Mildred (Reier) Kearney and grew up on the family ranch north of Sumner. She attended country school at Park Valley before graduating from Sumner High School with the class of 1953. Read More	Sharon Kay (Kearney) Haislip, 84, of Springfield, Missouri, died on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at the Neighborhood at Quail Creek Care Home in Springfield. Sharon was born on May 1, 1937, in Lexington, the daughter of L. Merle Kearney and Mildred (Reier) Kearney and grew up on the family ranch north of Sumner. She attended country school at Park Valley before graduating from Sumner High School with the class of 1953. After high school she attended Kearney State College in Kearney for one year then spent the summer working in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She then worked as a secretary in Lexington before she and her sister attended an airline reservationist school in Omaha then moved to Chicago working for Eastern Airlines. It was in Chicago where she met her future husband William (Bill) Haislip. After their marriage on May 27, 1959, Sharon went to work as a legal secretary and continued that career after the couple moved to Portland, Oregon, and then to Phoenix, Arizona. After retirement the couple moved to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, and a few years later to Battlefield, Missouri. Sharon and her husband loved listening to and playing country music. Both were talented singers and musicians on the piano and guitar. They loved jamming with other musicians and played professionally as a duo and with country and western bands. They especially enjoyed playing with the family band including Steve Kearney and Jason Kopsian. Sharon also loved gardening, reading and spending time with her nieces and nephews. In retirement Sharon enjoyed her time dancing with the Glitzy Chicks and attending aerobics classes with her friends. Survivors include her sister, Patsy Kopsian and her brothers, Ronald and wife Alberta Kearney, Kent and wife Denise Kearney, Steven and wife Virginia Kearney; stepdaughter, Cheryl and husband Manuel; stepson, William and wife Mary; and her nieces, nephews and many cousins and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Bill; her parents; stepson Dennis; stepdaughter Sheila; brother Gary Kearney; and her brother-in-law Arthur Kopsian.
