Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Reverend Karen Cluts will officiate with burial in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Sharon Lee (Ellis) Drinovsky, daughter of Alfred and Mamie (Fouts) Ellis was born September 25, 1939, in Marshalltown, IA. She attended Marshalltown High School and later got her Nursing Degree from Marshalltown Community College. Sharon was united in marriage to Norman Drinovsky on January 29, 1959, at Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Sharon was blessed with two children: Cynthia and Chris. Her fondest memories were helping in the maternity ward of the Marshalltown Hospital where she helped deliver babies. Sharon was in love with the arts and spent a lot of time volunteering in local schools where she would teach children arts and crafts, and poetry. She was very proud of her poetic accomplishments and had several of her works published in local newspapers and magazines. She was a mother to all who she met and spent many days babysitting nieces, nephews and any number of neighbor children. Sharon’s hobbies included playing cards including Pepper, and Irish music and dancing, which was a part of her heritage. Her generosity included helping those in need through her volunteerism and gifts, but her greatest gift was her love and compassion for others and her family. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Mike) Lapcheske of Urbandale, IA; son, Chris (Michelle) Drinovsky of Estherville, IA; three grandchildren, Whitney, Brianne, and Derrick; three great grandchildren, Bailey, Braxton, and Pierce; brother, Dale (Beverly) Ellis of Des Moines, IA; sisters, Cora (Martin) McCoy of Shreveport, LA, Evelyn Billman of Minneapolis, MN, and Deloris Fisch of Austin, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Mamie; husband, Norman; sister, Cecile Pelham Baie; brother-in-law, Edward Fisch; and nephew, Mark Fisch.
