Sherry was born on November 4, 1937 in Alamosa, Colorado. She was the first child of D. Duwayne Cornum and Voris Jane Miller Cornum. She grew up in Sanford, Colorado. Read More	Obituary: Valley resident Sheraldean Jane "Sherry" Cornum Scheibe, 73, passed away on May 15, 2011 in the Rio Grande Inn care center in La Jara, Colorado. Sherry was born on November 4, 1937 in Alamosa, Colorado. She was the first child of D. Duwayne Cornum and Voris Jane Miller Cornum. She grew up in Sanford, Colorado. She graduated from Sanford High School and attended Adam State College. She worked as a nurse aide in the Alamosa Community Hospital; until she married Robert Otto "Bob" Scheibe. They were married on her grandparents golden wedding anniversary, on November 1, 1966 in the family home in Sanford. After marring Bob, they made their home in Center, Colorado, where Bob worked for the Coors Farm. Sherry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings in the church, they were involved in starting the branch in Center. She was endowed in the Mesa Temple and was sealed for time and Eternity to her husband Bob Scheibe in the Provo Temple. After Bob passed away May 17, 1983, Sherry moved to Manassa. She lived there until the last four years; which she spent in care centers. She enjoyed playing games, cards, puzzles, canvas needlepoint, taking pictures, and her love of music. She was very musical talented and could play the piano by ear as well as the saxophone. She loved singing and dancing and even tap-dancing. Sherry is survived by her siblings Tennis (Donna) Cornum of Burleson, Texas, Hal (Mary) Cornum of Sanford, Myrna (Dennis) Moeller of Antonito, Debra (Jack) Gray of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Marilee (Pat) Vannoy of Sanford and her brother-in-law Dallas Norton of Romeo; her in-laws Ronald (Evelyn) Scheibe, Bonnie Scheibe all of Arizona, Elaine (Clifford) Yarnell of Nevada, Lynn Scheibe of Arizona, Mary (Mark) Anderson of Manti, Utah, Kathy Knight of Manassa, Gary Scheibe of Arizona; and numerousness nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob Scheibe, son, Kevin Otto Scheibe and her sister Renie Norton. A Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday May 19, 2011 at the Manassa First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 18 and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday prior to the service both at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa Interment will follow services at the Sanford cemetery.
