Description	:	Sherilee Smith, 71, of Malcom, died January 14, 2017, at Brookhaven Nursing Home in Brooklyn. A Celebration of Life service will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 20th, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. Burial will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom. The family will greet friends prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sherilee Smith Memorial Fund. Sherilee Rae McDonald was the daughter of Elmer Raymond and Beatrice Elizabeth Clevenger McDonald. She was raised in Grinnell. She graduated from Grinnell High School in 1963. She took several accounting courses at Marshalltown Community College. She was married to Keith Allen Smith on June 6, 1963 in Grinnell. To this union was born Keith "Allen" and Kurstin Ann. They lived in Colorado Springs for a year. Than moved to Malcom, Iowa in 1964. She was a bookkeeper at D & R Feed in Victor, Iowa for 18 years and retired on September 2, 2016. Sherilee enjoyed her family and their well-being was very important to her. Her love and devotion was very evident! For many years she cared for her elderly mother in her home. She knew the value of hard work and was driven to never give up on anything. She enjoyed cross-word puzzles, keeping up on current events, gardening when she was able and driving her car while sight-seeing in the area. She was an excellent cook and an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
