Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri., Aug 4, 1944 - Page 3 Sherman White Sherman George White was born July 15, 1899, at Fairfield, Nebraska, the son of Jenny Buffington and John White, and passed away very suddenly at Clay Center, Nebraska, July 29, at the age of 45 years and 14 days. He was united in marriage to Bernice Taylor of Norton, Kansas, July 7, 1925, at Mankato, Kansas. He grew to manhood and lived all his life except for the last six months at the place of his birth, three miles east of Fairfield, Nebraska. Since leaving the farm, he and his family resided in Clay Center, Nebraska. He was employed as a mechanic at the Harvard Air Base at the time of his death. Being a mechanic at heart, he loved and enjoyed this work. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Bernice; a daughter, Gladys Marie, and her husband, Pvt. LeRoy Bunch of Salina, Kansas; three sons, Harold, Dale and Eugene, at home; two sisters, Flora I. Cook and Alta A. Johnson, both of Broken Bow, Nebraska; and a brother, Perry White, of Casper, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Edna Dane and Lucy White, and a brother, Johnny White. Sherman was of strong physique and a hard worker. His sudden passing comes as a severe shock to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed in the home. Funeral services were held at the Clay Center Christian Church, Tuesday, Rev. Lyle Childs officiating. Interment was made in the Fairfield Cemetery.--Fairfield Auxiliary.
