Read More	SHERM GRANT DEAD Prominent Perry Township Farmer Died of Influenza Sherman Grant died at 5:30 o'clock last Thursday morning at his home in Perry township. Death was caused by influenza. Mr. Grant became ill a few days ago and his condition rapidly grew worse. The influenza affected both lungs and intestinal organs. He was one of Perry township's leading farmers, and was well known throughout the county. He was in the early fifties in age. Mr. Grant leaves a wife and five grown children, all of whom are married, and several grandchildren. His children are Clay Grant of Absorakee, Montana; Mrs. Ed Lynch, of Bloomfield; Forrest Grant, of Perry township; Mrs. Gene Runkle of southeast of Bloomfield, and Mrs. Ross Utt of the Shunem neighborhood. The funeral was held at the home Saturday. The funeral sermon was delivered by Rev. C.V. Allison of Bloomfield. Burial was at the IOOF cemetery. Sherman Grant, son of Mrs. and Mrs. J.W. Grant was born March 11, 1866, and he passed away at his home north of Bloomfield, Thursday morning, December 27, at 5:30am at the age of 62 years, 9 months, and 16 days of pneumonia following an attack of influenza. He was married to Miss Rebecca Christy on July 3, 1886. They celebrated their 42nd anniversary last July. To this union, six children were born: Frederick, an infant son precededing in death; the five surviving children are Clay of Wyoming; Freda Lynch; Opal Utt; Ruth Runkle and Forest all fo Bloomfield, also seven grandchildren; Fern Lynch, Teddy Runkle, Harold Dean Utt Foster, Mildred, Jack, and Keith Grant; one sister Maude Jones of Des Moines and four brothers, Jake, Sile, Bert and Thurman all of Davis county. His parents, two brothers and one sister preceeded him in death. As a husband and father he was ever true and faithful to those who were near and dear to him. All who knew him will always remember him as being a friend in time and need. He was a good neighbor and a kind friend. He leaves to mourn his loss, the wife, five children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters and a host of neighbors and friends.
