Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Fullerton with Reverend James Gruber officiating. Burial will follow at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 15th at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Current Covid-19 DHM’s will be followed and masks are required. Sherrill was born August 1, 1946 to Paul and Violet (Meyer) Anderson at the Hawthorne Nursing Home in Fullerton, NE. She was delivered by her great-grandmother, Clara Mae Hawthorne. She was baptized, confirmed, and married in the Lutheran faith at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. She was raised on a farm and attended Glenwood Grade School in rural Nance County. She was the only one in her class from kindergarten to eighth grade. She then attended Palmer High School and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1964. After, she attended Kearney State College and, then, worked at Fullerton National Bank. She was united in marriage to Christian Liesch on April 28, 1968. They were the first couple married where both were members within the congregation. They farmed one year in Nance County and then moved to Boone County to start their own farming operation. In the spring, you would find Sherrill tilling the ground while her husband was sowing the seeds. In the fall, while Chris was harvesting, Sherrill drove the trucks to the elevator. They worked together as a team, whether it was getting calves into a nice warm barn, chasing cattle in the middle of the night, or gathering piglets up in a tub when born. Sherrill was very active in her church teaching Sunday school and VBS for many years. She was also a devoted member of LWML and served on various board committees. She was active in promoting Thrivent Financial and organizing projects within the community. The most recent projects were for the Orphan Grain Train and the church sponsored orphanage in Russia. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and volunteer. She taught her children and grandchildren to sew, enjoyed helping with their 4-H projects, and attending their sports activities. She was always proud of their accomplishments. She is survived by her husband, Christian of Fullerton; daughters, Christina (William) Warner of Fullerton and Leslie (Chad) Pickrel of Fullerton; son, Michael (Michelle) Liesch of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Dustin, Cory, Lily, Carlee, Katelyn, Melinda, Derek, and Kian; two brothers, Roland (Terry) Anderson of Eustis and Robin (Jean) Anderson of Goodyear, AZ; sister-in-law, Joan Anderson of New Prague, MN; brothers-in-law, Helmut (Leta) Liesch of Kimball and Ulrich (Carol) Liesch of Fullerton; special aunt, Joyce (Ray) McNeff of Palmer; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Anderson.
