Description	:	Sherry Lynn LaRue, 66, of Ottumwa, died at 2:18 p.m. July 29, 2019 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 23, 1953 in Des Moines to Herb H. and Nellie Marie “Topsy” Rupe Ogden. Sherry married Terry LaRue on May 19, 1973. Read More	Sherry Lynn LaRue, 66, of Ottumwa, died at 2:18 p.m. July 29, 2019 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 23, 1953 in Des Moines to Herb H. and Nellie Marie “Topsy” Rupe Ogden. Sherry married Terry LaRue on May 19, 1973. A 1972 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Sherry earned a degree in bookkeeping from Indian Hills Community College. She worked for 32 years for South Side Drug as a pharmacy tech. She was a member of Boot Scooters and loved to dance. She was involved with the Working Man’s Christmas Party for needy kids and was also involved with youth bowling. Sherry enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband, Terry, and spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sherry is survived by her husband, Terry; her daughter, Kristi Hendrix of Ottumwa; 4 grandchildren, Tyler (Courtney) Meinders, Seth Meinders, Mercury Hendrix, Adrien Hendrix; a great-grandson; Reggie; her father, Herb H. Ogden; 2 brothers, Jerry Mark Ogden and Herbie (Arlene) Ogden; several nieces and nephews including Nikkie, Dale, Jerri Lynn, Chris, Blaine and Jennifer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Rupe and a granddaughter, Kelsey Meinders. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Hendred officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
