Shirley was born Feb. 25, 1927, in Meadow Grove to Harold and Cora Ann (Schultze) Williams. She graduated from Meadow Grove High School in 1945. She married Wendell N. Garden July 18, 1947, in Meadow Grove. They lived their entire married life in Norfolk. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where she was active in Many youth activities and volunteered for the Jumble Shop. She was very creative and belonged to several clubs, including By Hand, Sewing Club and Unique Boutique. Shirley always had a smile for everyone, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Wendi Kath of Norfolk; sons Jim and his wife, Randa of Norfolk, John and his wife, Natalie of Norfolk, Joe and his wife, Gina of Kearney; grandchildren Carmen Garden of North Bergen, N. J., Robin (Kath) and Kevin Kerr of Ansonia, Conn., Brian and Roseann Kath of Willmar, Minn., Kelli Kath of Lincoln, Kylie Rath of Bridgeport, Conn., Jamie Garden of Fayetteville, Ark., Nikki Garden of Wayne, Sam and Nicole Garden of Omaha, Paul Garden of Lincoln, Liz Garden of Lincoln, Emily and Abby Garden of Kearney. She is also survived by brother-in-law Richard P. and Mary Garden and sister-in-law, Janet Bridge, both of Norfolk, and great-grandchildren, Gracen, Nolan and Landen Kerr, Alexa, Brenden and Heidi Kath. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Wendell, who died Feb. 10, 2000. The Rev. Ruth Tomlinson will officiate. all spelling and punctuation as it appeared in the paper (GH)
