Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery by Danny Wilkerson and Pastor Tracy Gooding. The family will receive friends following the service at the family home, 564 Old Ruby Rd, Morven, NC. Mrs. Robertson was born July 18, 1936, in Chesterfield, SC, the daughter of the late Walter and Etta Gooden Crowley. She was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Robertson enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing with her dog, and tending to her cows and goat. She loved taking care of others and spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley will be remembered for her love of her church, her family, and especially her homemade biscuits. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Polson; brothers, Douland Crowley, Newsome Crowley, and Delbert Crowley; sisters, MaryLou Honeycutt and Thalia Parks. Survivors include her sons, Joel (Vicki) Polson of Lilesville, NC, and Jackie (Angie) Polson of Morven, NC; daughter, Vivian (Mike) Gregory of South Port, NC; step-daughter, Mary Donahue of Jefferson, SC; an aunt, Janie Parks of Patrick, SC; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to send a special thanks to Anson Community Hospice for their loving and kind care shown to Mrs. Robertson. Memorials may be made to Anson Community Hospice, 108 South Green Street Wadesboro, North Carolina, 28170. Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home (www.mrcfuneralhome.com) of Chesterfield, SC is serving the Robertson family.
