Description	:	Funeral services for Shirley Goree will be held at 4:30 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2015, at the Glenmora United Methodist Church with Reverend Jason Townley and Reverend Mark Strickland officiating. Committal service will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery of Glenmora under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Shirley, 79, of Glenmora, entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 13, 2015. She was born on October 8, 1935 in Glenmora to the union of Luckett Babb and Myrtle Mathis Babb. She graduated in 1955 from Glenmora High School, was a two times Softball State Champion, All-state pitcher, State Championship Basketball Player in 1954, and Majorette. Shirley was a receptionist at Snowden Dental, previously employed at the Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder as a cashier, and the business owner of Glenmora Tailor Shop and Goree Store & Restaurant in Forest Hill. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Charles Goree; her parents, Luckett and Myrtle Babb; and grandson, Cody Blue Rudisill. She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, son, Billy Brian Goree (Shorty) of Glenmora; daughters, Donna Goree and Danita Goree Davis (Johnny) all of Glenmora; 11 grandchildren, Shy, Dusty, B.J., Livia, Tera, Gary, Cody, Valerie, Nick, Mackie, and Allie; 13 great grandchildren, Reuben, Kaylan, Scott, Jackie, Karina, Remi, Reid, Maci, Chase, Spencer, Mylie, Lydie Belle, and Drake; sister, Lois (Ed) Johnson of Glenmora; numerous nieces, nephews, her best friend and loving pet, Prissy. Pallbearers to serve will be Dusty Rudisill, B.J. Rudisill, Nicholas Davis, John Mackie Davis, Rueben Edwards, Chase Daniels, Scott Lewis, Spencer Daniels, and Remi McClure. Visitation will be held at Glenmora United Methodist Church today, August 14, 2015 from 4 p.m. until time of service Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. in the church.
