Description	:	HOLTON - Shirley J. Logan, 83, of Holton, died Saturday, August 20, 2005 at the Holton Manor Nursing Home. She was born May 31, 1922. Her parents were Wallace C. and Edith J. Brown Canfield. She graduated from Holton High School in 1940. Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton where she volunteered in the library. She was a Cub Scout and Brownie Scout Troop Leader and enjoyed playing in various bridge clubs. She also took care of her grandchildren after school for many years. She married John G. Logan, Jr. on June 22, 1940 in St. Joseph,... Read More	HOLTON - Shirley J. Logan, 83, of Holton, died Saturday, August 20, 2005 at the Holton Manor Nursing Home. She was born May 31, 1922. Her parents were Wallace C. and Edith J. Brown Canfield. She graduated from Holton High School in 1940. Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton where she volunteered in the library. She was a Cub Scout and Brownie Scout Troop Leader and enjoyed playing in various bridge clubs. She also took care of her grandchildren after school for many years. She married John G. Logan, Jr. on June 22, 1940 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Together they operated Holton Transport, Inc., along with Al and Alline Hann. He died August 22, 1969. Survivors include one son, Greg Logan and his wife, Patty, Topeka; three granddaughters, Lesley Harris and J.J. Cashier, both of Holton, and Jenny Daniel, Wichita; one grandson, Shawn Beatty, Kansas City, Missouri; six great grandsons and three great granddaughters. Cremation is planned. A graveside memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 23rd at the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Family and friends will also meet at the funeral home on Tuesday and go in procession to the cemetery at 10:20. Memorials are suggested to the Heart of Jackson Humane Society, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, 524 Pennsylvania, 66436.
