Shirley was baptized March 22, 1931, and confirmed Oct. 29, 1941, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Superior. She graduated from Superior High School in 1950. She lived in Superior her entire life except for a short time that her father sought work in Kansas City, Mo. Shirley and Kenneth were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Superior. Shirley spent her life devoted to her daughters and husband. She was active in her church. Her favorite pastimes were playing cards, camping and spoiling her children, eight grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren, and she was especially proud of her 10 great-grandchildren. Shirley never knew how many would show up at her table for dinner and always made room for more even if it meant that she would say that she really wasn't all that hungry that day. Shirley was an active part in Jensby Trucking for many years. She enjoyed great health until her final few years. A major heart surgery in 2009 led to her declining strength and health. As hard as it was for her, she would work very hard to get to most of her card parties, which she enjoyed so much up until her two heart attacks in 2010. Shirley was an only child and cherished her family. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Leslie and Leona Jensby; brothers-in-law, Robert Jensby and Orville Meyer; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Jensby. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, NE. Published in Kearney Hub on August 25, 2011
