Mrs. Baker died April 24, 2008, at the age of 80. She was born Sept. 26, 1927, in Glendale, Calif., to Herman and Cecil Pearl Blanchard Reinke. She married Melvin J. Baker on April 5, 1947, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. A resident of Glendale, Calif., Chimacum and Sequim, she worked as a homemaker and farmer and was co-owner/operator of a sawmill. She enjoyed reading, especially true stories, human interest and sociology. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and dancing at the Chicken Coop Road dance hall. She is survived by her husband, Melvin J. Baker of Sequim; daughters Jackie Baker of Sequim and Jill Meeker of Rice; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
