Shirley attended school in Des Moines, Iowa before moving to Kansas in 1949. She graduated from Allen High School in Allen Kansas in 1954 and returned to Iowa soon after graduation. Goodrich, daughter of Curtis Hensley and Darlene (Melton) Alexander was born July 24, 1936 in Iowa City, Iowa and passed from this life Monday, June 12, 2017 at Clarke County Hospital at 80 years of age. Shirley attended school in Des Moines, Iowa before moving to Kansas in 1949. She graduated from Allen High School in Allen Kansas in 1954 and returned to Iowa soon after graduation. She was united in marriage to Gail "Chub" Frank Goodrich on December 23, 1955 at Nebraska City, NE and two daughters, Kathy Lynn and Tammy Sue blessed this union. Over the years, Shirley has worked for Snowdens, Hy-Vee and Rindy's SuperValue before working for Furnas Electric for 23 years retiring in 1998. She was a member of Aladdin Knights, Aladdin lamp collectors club and attended Grace Bible Church. She loved going to auctions, Monday morning coffee with the girls and going on bus trips and enjoyed collecting Aladdin lamps, glass slippers and pie birds. She also enjoyed shopping, cross-stitching quilts, playing cards, gardening, feeding the hummingbirds and spending lots of time with family and her Doxies. Those relatives who preceded Shirley in death were her spouse, Chub Goodrich, father, Curtis Hensley, mother, Darlene Alexander, infant daughter, Kathy Lynn Goodrich, step-father, Carl Alexander, brother, Ronald Hensley, nephews, Jim Hensley, Kelley Hensley. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Tammy Morris of Osceola, IA, grandson, Erik (Heather) Morris of Des Moines, IA, nieces, Lisa, Lori, Kimmie and nephew, Kris as well as other relatives and many friends. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Clarke County Animal Shelter.
