Born in Chester, she was a daughter of the late Kingsley and Olive (Cook) Publicover. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, F.E. Butler Branch No. 44, Chester; a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary serving as secretary for many years and spent countless hours as part of the catering committee. Besides enjoying bingo, she was an avid card player and belonged to the 45's Marathon Club for over 40 years. Shirley is survived and sadly missed by her loving husband of 55 years, George; son, Bill (Diana); daughter, Joanne (Bob) LeBlanc, all of Chester; grandchildren, Jeffrey Zinck, Chester; Erin (Troy) Pellerine, Gagetown, N.B.; Adam, Shilo, Man.; great-grandsons, Jesse Zinck, Marriott's Cove; Maxwell Pellerine, Gagetown, N.B.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Norma (Aurel) Savoie, Chester; daughter, Susan Elizabeth in infancy. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, Chester with a Ladies Auxiliary tribute at 6:45 p.m. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Father Jim McCorriston officiating. A reception to follow in the Royal Canadian Legion, Chester. Burial in Bayview Cemetery, Chester. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Chester.
